BOY.I6.FREEZES FEET TRYING TO ESCAPE PRISON Fugitive From Boys’ School May Lose Members as Result. In Robert Long Hospital today is a 16-year-old fugitive from the Indiana Boys School, Plainfield, who escaped from his cell, ran until his feet froze, and then proceeded on his hands and knees rather than be caught. He was found near Spencer, Ind., Sunday, and gave his name as Tseas E. Applegate. He had escaped Feb. 23. He was unable to walk and his clothing showed that he had been doing his best to get along by crawling. When Spencer physicians examined his feet they found the cold wounds had become infected and they hurried him to the hospital here. They said they feared amputation of the feet would be necessary. At the hospital today his condition was described as fair, and physicians are to make a decision today on whether an operation is necessary. CHEAP FEED IS REFLECTED BY CATTLETRADE Trend Expected to Continue During Summer, Says A. S. Thomas. “The influence of cheap feed on the cattle market will continue to be felt during the summer,” according to A. S. Thomas of the Indiana Farm Bureau livestock marketing department. “In many instances quality is being sacrificed due to the excessive use of roughage and the marketing of immature cattle,” he said. Mr. Thomas pointed out that although the number of choice cattle on feed Jan. 1 was 50 per cent lower than at this time a year rgo, the good stock was up 12 per cent, and there is a rise of 7 per cent in medi-

am quality. This is explained, he said, by the use of cheap feed and early marketing. Advising marketing of these between grades, Mr. Thomas said the next 30 days should be an ideal time for such a move However, he advised carrying good quality cattle on feed during the summer for the later market since there is now a shortage of this type.
