TAX BILL GETS ! RIGHT-OF-WAY
Adjournment of Congress by May 1 Object of Speed Plan. Bv TJnilf and Press WASHINGTON. March 13Speaker Joseph W. Byrns .said today that the Admmi&traiton tax bill would he jjjven legislative right-of-way in an effort to obtain adjournment of Congress by May 1. By ms* announcement came after a conference with President Roosevelt. He said he hoped that controversy over the tax measure in committee would be worked out so that the bill could be placed before the Hou.se fbr action in two weeks. Indications had been, however, that the measure would not be ready for the House much before April 1. In addition to a desire for early adjournment, leaders were known to he eager to speed up action so that prolonged controversy may be avoided. Byrns said the President lold him that his message to Congress outlining relief needs during the next ft/ieal year would come “within the next few days ’’ DOCTOR IS MURDERER Indian Physician to Hang in England for Two Killing*.
