EUROPEAN WAR UNLIKELY NOW. BRITON CLAIMS It Will Come Within Few Years, However, Traveler Says. David Cook, traveling secretary' of : the Intercollegiate Council, who | spoke at Earlham College today on I the "Campus in Wartime” does not believe an immediate war in Europe I is likely. Germany is not ready now, he said, but war in Europe is to be expected within a few years. Germany and Russia may be the warring nations, in his opinion. Mr. Cook's talk today concludes a series of speeches in Indiana. A native of London. England, and educated at Cheltenham College and Columbia University, Mr. Cook is a student of international affairs and has a particular interest in the economic aspects of war. The objectives of the Intercollegiate Council. Mr. Cook said, are to provide American students with intellectual leadership and educational material, to arouse their social and political consciousness and to develop better qualified leaders for American public life. The Council is strictly non-partisan, he stated. Mr. Cook already has spoken at Indiana Central College, De Pauw I University and Franklin College and | is to continue his speaking tour in Michigan.
