74 SITES FOR REGISTRATION ARE PLANNED Branch Offices Expected to Facilitate Work for Election. Tentative arrangements have been marie to establish 74 voters' registra- j tion brandies in the county, to fa- j cilitate handling of new and changed registrations, Glenn B. Ral4Jii. county clerk, announced to2ay. The officers are to open Thursday, March 26, and close April 3. and are to be open each day from 10 until 10. While definite sites have not been determined, the Retail Druggists’ Association is co-operating in the plan, and it is thought that the majority may be set up in association : stores. Fifteen are to be outside ; the city. They are to be operated on a ro- j tation basis with seven open each I day. Experienced clerks, now being trained by Charles R. Ettinger, chief deputy clerk, are to be in charge. Each ward is to have a branch in operation at least twice during the period. Some of the larger wards are to be contacted oftener. Daily publication is to be made of the branches open, Mr. Ralston said. Should Register Soon Persons who are> eligible to vote and have not registered, should do so as soon as possible, the clerk said. Persons who are to be 21 on or before the day of the election, Nov. 3, and citizens who have I moved since 1934, must register. Voters who have come into the j county from another must register j and also sign a cancellation form in the former county, according to Mr. Ralston. Changes in names through marriage or divorce also must be recorded. In addition to the branches, the registration office in the Courthouse is open to all who wish information in this matter. 186-DAY TERM GIVEN FOR DRUNKEN DRIVING William J. Feld Arrested After Striking Parked Auto. For mixing gasoline and liquor, William J. Feld, 47, 830 N. East-st. today began a 186-day term at the State Farm. Arrested after he is alleged to have driven his car into a parked auto owned by Delbert Hendrickson, 838 Union-st, Feld was convicted yesterday before Municipal Judge Charles Karabell of drunken operating, failure to stop after an accident and operating without a license. Mr. Hendrickson testified that to halt Feld’s fleeing car after the accident, he was compelled to jump on the running board and turn off the ignition sw’itch. EVANS FOR GOVERNOR HEADQUARTERS OPENED Republican Legislator Claims 4000 Workers in State. Herbert H. Evans, Newcastle, House minority caucus chairman and candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor, has opened headquarters in Room 826, Claypool, he announced today. Mr. Evans claims 4000 workers over the state in the Evans for Governor Club. His supporters are to meet today and tomorrow in Rooms 926 and 927 in the Washington. Mr. Evans has traveled more than 33,000 miles and visited 80 counties since last summer, in furthering his candidacy. HORSE GROUP ELECTS Charles F. Gregg Named President of Saddle Association. Charles F. Gregg, annual hast to the Indiana Saddle Horse Association fall roundup, has been elected association president, to succeed Ola Fred Heslar. H. M. Fuller is first vice president; Charles Latham, second vice president; Mrs. Frank Shields, third vice president; Fred Sharp, treasurer; Mrs. Helen York, secretary, and Emory Sharp, assistant treasurer.
