The Tinyxnites had heaps of fun upon the mattress. They wuold run and leap Into the air. Why, even Slim tried out his luck. He was a funny sight to see, ’cause he was clumsy as could be. “Well, anyway, I’m game,” he said. “That takes a lot of pluck.” Just then a little black bear whined. THE vulture plays a unique role in the world of nature. Due to its repulsiveness, and the method by which it secures a living, the bird is detested by those who do not realize its true value. Disease would run rampant in many countries of the world were it not for the vultures, which pick clean the bones of unburied dead. * * * NEXT—How do toad’s breathe?

puff, so I guess we have had enough,” said Duncy. “We had better tell the beasts that we are through.” Then Slim exclaimed, “I have one hunch that, I am sure, will please this bunch. We’ll have a band. I’ve instruments for every one of you.” “Hurray!” cried Windy. “Bring them out. The music will be sour, no doubt, but we can have a lot of sport. We’ll let wee Scouty lead.” Soon Slim exclaimed, “Well, here I come with cornet, saxophone and drum! I’ll bring a cc 'Die more things out, and that’s al. we will need. Wee Scouty raised the baton and cried, “Watch the leader of this band! The fine ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ is the first song we will take. “But first, test out your instruments. —By Edgar Rice Burroughs
Tarzan was untroubled. Os all the beasts of desert, plain and jungle, he loved best these ponderous, gentle creatures. He called out now in tones by which he had learned to soothe the wildest elephanre. But the giant thing flung high its trunk and roared a mighty challenge!
