INDUSTRY NEEDS CROP CONTROL, TAYLORCLAINIS Farm Conditions Felt in Other Fields, Bureau Head Says. “Business mn of Indianapolis will fpel the conditions acutely if some form of crop control is not put through the present Congress,” Lewis Taylor, president of the Indiana Farm Bureau, said here today. ‘ Whatever measures are put into practice the reflection is felt in other fields,” Mr. Taylor went on. “From the farm comes the only original wealth in the world and the Indiana Farm Bureau stands for a definite control program such as Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace is certain to discuss here Wednesday. The Secretary of Agriculture is to speak to Bureau members Wednesday at 3 in the Manufacturers Building, State Fairground. Taylor Lauds Wallace "Mr. Wallace is one of the outstanding figures in Washington today, I feel, and it is from such men that we will get a program for balancing farm production,” Mr. Taylor said. “It is not the problem of immediate price decline which worries the thinking farmer, but rather the effect which uncontrolled production will have in 1937. If we should, as well we might, have a bumper wheat crop, we will be faced with the problem of an overage of two billion bushels of wheat and with no foreign market to absorb it. ‘‘The farmer is paying for all the foreign debts right this year. We have lost the normal trade balances which once existed and the corresponding decline in foreign shipments of lard and livestock is hurting our agricultural sections.” FAMILY ARGUMENT LEADS TO SLAYING Shot Brother-In-Law to Protect Sister, Says Prisoner.
