It’s up to the new crop of politicians to see that politics regains its lost dignity.” The Mayor said in the interview that he would not seek a second term as mayor, as he prefers judicial to administrative work. He indicated that President Rosevelt is considering him for appointment to the Federal Bench and that he probably would accept such an offer. He declined to comment on national politics, in the interview, and explained, “President Roosevelt needs no defense from me. I’m certain he will be re-elected, and I know he will carry Indiana easily.” HAMMOND MAN ADMITS RELIEF ORDER FORGERY Four Other Defendants Deny Complicity in Misappropriation. By United Press CROWN POINT, Ind., Feb. 4 Frank Kroncke, 27, Hammond, pleaded guilty before Judge William J. Murray in Criminal ’Court yesterday to charges of misappropriating funds from the office of North Township Trustee John Mehan. Four other defendants, Adin S Nordyke, Nick Sharry and Stanley Kolando, Hammond grocers, and Ray J. Homrick, pleaded not guilty. Kroncke, a former government register clerk in Mr. Mehan’s relief headquarters, admitted forging several relief grocery order claims. COUNTY DEMOCRATS INDORSE M'KINNEY Dinner for Sixty Approves Former HOLC Head. Speeches indorsing the gubernatorial candidacy of E. Kirk McKinney were made last night by members of the Marion County Democratic organization at a dinner at the Claypool for which Mr. and Mrs. McKinney were hosts. Approximately 60 members of the organization attended, including County Chairman Walter Boetcher, James Deery, Twelfth District chairman; Mrs. Albert Losche, Twelfth District vice chairman;' Mrs. John Bingham, county vice chairman; Henry O. Goett, county committee treasurer, and Joseph McNamara, county committee secretary. Others were ward chairmen and vice chairmen and township chairmen and vice chairmen. Former Mayor Reginald H. Sullivan, McKinney supporter, was the only person attending who is not a member of the county organization. The organization recently gave formal indorsemetn to Mr. McKinney’s candidacy in the Democrtic state convention in June.
