I. U. EXTENSION SETS DATES FOR PUPIL CONTESTS First Achievement Test Is to Start Feb, 29 With County Meets. ITiffl'! Up'rinl BLOOMINGTON. Ind., Jan. 31. Dates for a series of Indiana high school achievement contests, sponsored each year by the Indiana University Extension Div Lion, were announced here today. Several thousands pupils participated in the competitions last yeor. The annual Latin contest, entering its thirteenth consecutive year, will start Feb. 29 with county meets. District meets are scheduled for April 4. and the final round of the contest is to be held April 17, on the university campus. The eighth annual solo music conic. t has been enlarged to include not only piano, violin, cello and voice, but practically all band instruments. It will constitute a part of the Hoosier Music Festival to be held here, (he third week in April. Sectional meets for the music contest are scheduled for March 20 to 27 and April 4, 5. The state meet is to be held April 16. County meets for the twentythird annual discussion league contest are tentatively scheduled for March 27. District and state meets are to be held April 9 and 24, respectively. The mathematics contest, in its sixth year, is to consist, of two divisions, algebra and geometry.
