PRICES GO UP r MODERATELY IN CITYMARKETS Lemons Advance 50 Cents a Crate for Largest Increase of Week. Price fluctuations of fruits and vegetables in Indianapolis commis#ion markets this week varied moderately, with increases exceeding declines. The largest increase was reported for lemons, which advanced 50 cents to $6.50 a crate. Price movements were somewhat irregular for apples. Jonathans, in extra fancy baskets, showed an increase of 10 cents to $1.50 each, while fancy wealthies slumped 10 cents to $1.25 a basket. The majority of classes, however, continued to show steady price trends, despite the Cold weather. J Other fruits, with the exception •f cranberries and pears, also fnaintained a steady trend. Cranberries, C. C. Howes. Eatmores, decreased 25 cents to $3.75 a 25-pound box. Pears also were around 25 cents lower, selling at $3.50 a crate. Vegetables Show Decrease Movements were about evenly divided among the vegetables, although decreases well exceeded advances in range. Round, stringless green beans dropped 25 cents to $3 50 a hamper. Among the minor declines were cabbage and celery, both off 5 cents. Virginia kale moved around 10 cents lower, selling at 65 cents a bushel. Iceberg Arizona lettuce advanced 25 cents to $3.25 a basket. Potatoes Up 15 Cents An increase of 15 cents to $1.75 a hundred pounds in early Ohios, marked the change for the week in the potato market. Sweet potatoes also advanced with Indiana Jerseys up 15 cents to $1.50 a bushel. Radishes, home grown buttons, also were 15 cents higher, selling from 40 to 50 cents a dozen. Other vegetables Including carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, egg plant, parsley, parsnips, peas, spinach and turnips maintained a steady trend. Tomatoes, repacked 10-pound boxes, sold at $1.25, while hothouse 8pound baskets brought $1.35. LEGION MAKES PLANS FOR STATE CONVENTION Chairman of Housing Committee for Muncie Meeting Named. MUNCIE, Jan. 24.—Paul Norris, Y. M. C. A. executive staff official, has been named chairman of the housing committee for the American Legion state convention, to be held here next summer. Assisting him is to be Ray Masters, local hotel manager and committee vicechairman. The committee is to handle the task of securing accommodations for the hundreds of World War veterans expected to attend the convention. Clarence Gray has been designated chairman of the drum corps committee.

REPUBLICANS SELECT TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN Muncie Man to Head Delaware County Committee. Time* Special MUNCIE, Jan. 24.—Selection of John D. Lewis, local factory personnel director, to serve as chairman of the Delaware County Republican committee was announced here today. As successor to the late Ray W. Pittenger, Mr. Lewis is to hold the position until the regular organization meeting following the May primary. Others named to committee posts include Mrs. Mabel B. Ringo, former county clerk, vice chairman; S. T. Pettijohn. secretary, and Charles Fisher, treasurer. Postal Council Plans Party Announcement of the annual fun frolic ot the Indianapolis Allied Postal Council Feb. 15 at the Athenaeum was made today by Guy Strickler, council president. Lawrence Ernest is general chairman and Herman V. Browning and Claude Franklin are ticket chairmen. ✓
