STEIMEIER NEW CHIEF OF FARM PLANNING GROUP Elected Head of County’s Committee by 25 Leaders. Albert Steimeicr today is the newly elected president of the Marion County Agriculture Planning Committee. He was chosen at an organization meeting of 25 of the county's farm leaders held in the offices of Horace E. Abbott, County Agricultural Agent. Ralph Ruschaupt was elected vice president and A. A. Dittrich, secretary. Charles Smart and Howard Mills were chosen directors. The first efforts of the new committee will be to work out some method of planned crop production and survey of farm conditions relative to sub-marginal lands to replace the crop control features of the AAA. according to Mr. Abbott. Various phases of the present farm problem were discussed at the meeting by J. C. Bottum of the Purdue University farm management department, G. E. Amick of Purdue University extension department and J. W. Klltz, Purdue University district supervisor of vocational education. Mr. Abbott explained the method of organization and the general purpose of the new program which had been started some time before the AAA was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
