400 Townsmen of Dethroned Secretary Back Race for Governor. 7 imt* fiprrinl SHELBYVILLE. Jan. 17—Gubernatorial aspirations of Pleas E. Greenlee, dethroned patronage secretary of Governor Paul V. McNutt, swung intp high gear here last night when 400 fellow townsmen, including many Republicans, formally organized a Shelby County Greenlee-for-Governor Club. Speakers at the enthusiastic meeting in City Hall included Democratic party leaders and two state administration officials, all of whom declared that Shelbyville's native son is sure to emerge as the party’s nominee. Mr. Greenlee was not present for the ovation. Btate Treasurer Peter Hein told the cheering audience that a recent tour of fiO counties disclosed to him that “Pleas has the solid support of the party's hardest workers."
