Knights of Road Summon Ruler to Appear Before Jungle Court. By United Press CHICAGO. Jan. 10.—The jungle drums are beating and their throbs are echoing in a hundred thousand hobo lairs throughout the kingdom of wanderers. A king has been called to answer to his people. Long live the king! The council of elders has demanded that Ben Reitman appear before them in Cincinnati. And King Ben, tall, swaggering; will be there. They sent him a telegram which said; “Investigating committee Hoboes of America request your presence at Jungle Court to be held at International headquarters. Come Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday whichever is convenient for you as charges have been placed against you posing as king. Write or come.” He'll Bea Day Late “I’ll be there Sunday,” the king Baid today. He will be one day late —perhaps in a gesture of defiance—but even he, the king, must answer the mandates of the elders. "I’ll be there. And I’ll have to leave my Chicago school of social pathology to do it,” he said. “Certainly I’m a king, king of sociological outcasts. I know the undeoi'orld and the people in it. Minton and VanNuys Urged to Back Substitute for Fallen AAA. Time* Special WASHINGTON, Jan. 10—County farm bureau organizations throughout Indiana are wiring both Senators Van Nuys and Minton to do everything possible to save their markets, restored through AAA. which was declared unconstitutional by the United States Supreme Court. Typical of the type of telegram being received is this one received by Senator Minton: “We urge immediate replacement legislation for AAA so as to carry out a national policy for agriculture as beneficial to farmers as a protective tariff is to industry.” Letters also are pouring in, many of them vigorously attacking the Supreme Court and charging the judges who scrapped AAA with partisan bias and “old foggyism.” WARN AUTOISTS OF ICE Roads in Northern Part of State Still Are Slippery. With many roads in the northern part of the state still covered with ice, the State Highway Dvoartment today issued an appeal to ivotorists to drive with caution and observe warning signals.
