60 BEGIN WORK IN SCHOOL FOR INDIANAPOLICE 30 Experts Are to Lecture on Phases of Law Enforcement. How to make the average experienced policeman a better officer is the object of the four-week training school which started yesterday at the U. S. Naval Training Armory, 630 E. Washington-st, under direction of Donald P. Stiver, state safety director. The school is conducted for state police, but advanced training is given local or county enforcement officials who attend. The school is under immediate supervision of Lieut. Don Kooken of the state police. This is the first advanced training ever undertaken by the department and 55 state police and five local officers are enrolled in the course. Instruction in All Phases Instruction is being given in every phase of crime detection by 30 authorities. The lectures cover the accepted procedure in making arrests, filing reports, keeping notebooks and police law. Laboratory work is conducted in the use of small firearms, machine-guns, tear gas bombs and riot guns. Experts in legal procedure, conduct on the witness stand, constitutional rights, and first-aid are to lecture to the class. Federal enforcement officers from the Department of Justice, Narcotic Division, Secret Service and Alcohol Unit have been enlisted to give outlines of their work.

State and local police and sheriffs’ officers of White and Tippecanoe Counties discovered the wrecked machine and surrounded the nearby cornfield. Sekema surrendered without resistance. More than S9OO of the loot was rocovered in a pasteboard box found in the prisoner's home near Badger Grove, along the White-Tippecanoe County line. T heodore Loveless of the state police announced Sekema had confessed the robbery. The youth was injured slightly when the automobile, which he is said to have stolen at a farm sale, was wrecked when he failed to negotiate a curve. AWARDS BACK SALARY Martin County School Head Given $2775 by Court Order. By United Press SHOALS, Ind., Jan. 7.—Rone Osborn, county superintendent of schools, yesterday was awarded $2775, representing salary from Aug. 16, 1933, to April 18, 1935, in Martin Circuit Court. The judgment was made after the State Supreme Court ruled Osborn was the rightful possessor of the office which had been claimed by his predecessor, Can Edington.
