HEAL ESTATE IN CITY INCREASES MARKET ACTION Last Six Months Show Rise, Report of Board Says. There has been "more activity'’ in the real estate market ir the last six months than in the same period of 1934, according to the semiannual survey conducted by the Indianapolis Real Estate Board. The survey says: There is a shortage of single family dwellings. There is a shortage of desirable apartments and apartment building construction is expected eventually. There is a normal supply of business buildings in Indianapolis. There is no increase in sales of subdivision and suburban lots. Rents for single family dwellings show an increase of from 5 to 8 per cent. Show Stationary Return Duplexes or buildings with flats, unheated, show a stationary rental return. Rents for heated apartments show a small increase. Higher rents are asked i’or business space in the downtown district. Less office space is available. Sale of Indiana farm land by the Federal Land Bank of Louisville, Ky., more than tripled the 1934 total. The bank sold 362 farms at an average price of $33.25 an acre this year compared with 101 farms at $25.77 an acre in 1934. With architects’ offices working overtime, prospects for the construction Industry are brighter, according to Clarence T. Myers, manager of the Indianapolis Building Material Exhibit. Many projects still are in the bidding stage and should level out unemployment as they become contracts in the next few months, Mr. Myers said. Albright, Cayuga, today announced he is to seek the Democratic nomination as Sixth District Representative in Congress in next spring's primary election. His candidacy is to be in opposition to that of Mrs. Virginia E. Jenckes, Terre Haute, who has Indicated she will seek re-nomination. Mr. Albright, now serving as state Senator from Warren, Vermilion and Fountain Counties, has declared himself in favor of national social security along lines similar to the Townsend Plan, immr iate payment of the bonus and home rule in state, township and county affairs.
