Britain Gazes Anxiously at Egypt, Fearing Storm May Burst at Any Moment

Current events can only give rise to the fear that a storm may burst in the Nile vallpy and sweep over the troublous Mediterranean area. What the Wafdlsts want is a fuller recognition of genuine independence. They would probably then welcome the status of full and equal allies with England. What has excited their latest outburst, resulting in clashes with police and soldiers in and around Cairo, has been the cool calm way in which the English set about protecting their own interests and those of Egypt.
