HOMESTEADERS TO GIVE PARTY; PUSH PROJECT President of Home-Building Program Anticipates Federal Aid. Confident of an allocation of Federal funds for a 550-house homestead project on a 700-acre tract adjoining Beech Grove, the sponsoring organisation, the National Suburban Homestead Society of America, Inc., is to celebrate at a party Friday night in Tomlinson Hall. Bert Wilhelm, 2106 S. Emersonav, society president and one of its incorporators, announced the party is open to the public. There is to be dancing to the music of Dutton's orchestra and a floor show. Action on a loan for the project, he said, is next on the list of the Rural Resettlement Administration. The project, according to Mr. Wilhelm, is to be well under way by March 1. He believes it will be a boon to some 2000 employes of the Big Four Railroad shops in Beech Grove, explaining that less than 500 of them live in or near that city. Some 1000 are brought from Indianapolis each work-day morning on a special train and returned at night. 200 Live in Cleveland Approximately 200, he said, live in Cleveland, 0., and are able to be at home only on week-ends. Each house in the project is to have a plot of About two acres. Time for gardening would be available to the homesteaders, Mr. Wilhelm explained, on days when the shoos are idle. He pointed out that at present work is available only about 14 days of each month. Much of the landscaping of the tract has been completed, the society president said. It is planned to install oil-burning furnaces in the homes, the fuel supply to be obtained from a crude oil pipeline which passes through the homestead tract. Utility service is to be bought at wholesale rate, he explained, and distributed to the homesteaders by society-owned equipment. BRIDE RESUMES LIFE BROKEN BY CONVICTION Innocent Woman Released From Prison Joins Husband. B i/ United Prtss BRAZIL, Ind., Dec. 13.—A brief married life, broken 13 months ago when 27-year-old Louise Botts went to prison for a crime committed by another woman, was resumed today at the home of William Botts, relief worker. Mrs. Botts came home last night. Forgery charges on which she was sentenced in Kokomo in November, 1934, just five months after her marriage, were wiped out by a pardon from Gov. McNutt. Sev°n persons claimed Mrs. Botts was a woman who had cashed wortnless checks, despite her contention she never had been in Kokomo before her arrest. Taken to prison, she told her story to Mrs. Marian F. Gallup, superintendent. Subsequent investigation led to her release. ELECTION IS SCHEDULED Shelby County Democratic Women to Meet Tomorrow.
