‘ We have a little hod that you ean use. It will be handy, too, if you don’t let the sugar spill. Oh, wait! I have a plan. “In lumps the sugar we will press. 'Twill make it easier, I guess. If you don’t think this can be done, we’ll show you that it can!” The sugar then was moistened and the pressing stunt worked out just grand. “Bring on the hod,” mied Windy, “and we’ll load it to the top. “11l take the first load. I am strong, and I’m sure nothing will :;o wrong. Somebody foliow, though, ’cause I might let some sugar drop.” The largest ant of all the bunch stepped up and said, “I have a hunch that I’d best take the first load, sos to lead you to our hill.” The Tinies helped give him a load and lie went walking down the road. “That’s heavy,” Dotty said, ‘l'll bet he'll shortly have his fill.”

TARZAN AND THE FIRE GODS
Once more, as the Alexandrian band charged the rampart Tarzan tried to turn them back, but their ears were closed to the word retreat. Soon they were in sight of the foe. The aim of the brigands was not expert, but the flying bullets brought down six of Tarzan's twenty.

Now the accurate arrows of the Alexandrians wrought havoc among the brigands who swarmed atop the wall. But Tarzan knew there were hundreds to take their places. Only one hope remained to the Jungle Lord—if only he could encounter Boris Garetto face to face!

The ape-man and only ten of his warriors attained the battlement. They fought their way furiously over the top, and dropped down amid their enemies. Now the confused warriors could not use their firearms for fear of killing some of their own comrades.
