SCIENTISTS HEAR ROBERTS. ROSS AT TABERNACLE Fifth Church of Christ Sponsored Lecture Last Night. Robert, Stanley Ross, C S. B, New York City, member of the board of lectureship of the Mother! Church, First Church of Christ. 1 Scientist, Boston, last night lectured in Cadle Tabernacle, under auspi-1 res of the Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, Indianapolis. He said in part: “According to Christian Science ever-present unchangeable good is and always will be the basis, start- ! ing point, or priciple of true ' thought and demonstration. To hu- ; man sense, however, this fact must be a revelation or discovery. The i dawning upon human consciousness i of the idea of ever-present, good is the appearing of Christ, truth, even | that which Jesus came to reveal and I exemplify. This divine appearing I constitutes Christian Science prac- { tice, and brings about in human! experience that which is known as | healing. Fundamentally, however,! this process is not the healing of j sick persons or sinners, nor of per- j sons who believe they are sick and I sinning, but it is the dispelling of; a false personal sense by spiritual! recognition of the glorious fact that the real man, the Christ-man, which is true selfhood, never has been sick nor a sinner, discouraged nor a failure, 'Fhe power which accom- j panics this perfect ideal, this recog- i nition of reality, is irresistble. It j opens wide the floodgates of omnip- : otence. It ushers into human con- j sciou ness the very presence of God Maintains Clear Outlook “Therefore, the method or modus! operandi of Christian Science is the art of maintaining, through meekness and love, such a clear, unobstructed outlook upon spiritual reality that the. mesmerism of customary, popular belief, scientifically termed mortal mind or animal magnetism, can not becloud our think-

ing and thereby prevent us from j recognizing ever-present good. In this way and in this way only can we see for ourselves and others the j unreality of that which to human ; sense seems to be real and substantial. Instead of doing something to j supposedly separate our outward per- | sons, circumstances, and things, we j have only to clarify our own thought j spiritually; we have only to cast | out the beam or false material con- j cept from our own thinking and see | the universe and man as the spirit- j ual idea of God, hence perfect, in j order to remove t"he mote or that seems to be part of our neigh- j bor. Mrs. Eddy makes clear on \ pages 476 and 477 of Science and ! ..ealth, where she writes: “Jesus j beheld in Science the perfect man, j who oppenicu to him where sinning j mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect, man the Savior saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view o; i ian healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy.”
