STRICTER DRUG PROVISIONS ARE MADE BY BOARD State Pharmacy Body Seeks to Outlaw ‘Liquor Stores.’ Steps to curtail establishment of ‘'synthetic” drug stores operated principally to sell liquor, have been taken by adoption of more strict licen. e provisions by the State Pharmacy Board. Board members said they saw a trend toward growth of such‘‘saloon drug stores'' and felt that steps should be taken. Edgar A. O Harrow, Bloomington, board president, said the action is not aimed at legitimate liquor stores nor at drug stores selling liquor properly. “The action is aimed only at stores advertised as drug stores, but not equipped to so operate,” he said. ' No legitimate druggist will find the regulations a hardship.” The new rules prescribe equipment which must be in the store, including “necessary equipment for dispensing and compounding prescription. ” The drug stock must include commonly used chemicals, drugs and preparations, ENGINEERS TO MEET Central Indiana Section of Institute to Open Season. Central Indiana section of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers will open its 1935-36 season with a meeting at 8 tomorrow night, in the Electric Building. D. J. Angus, treasurer and chief engineer of the Esterline-Angus Cos., will speak on “Exploring the Navajo Country.” BARBERS MAP DRIVE City-AVidc Educational and Advertising Campaign Planned. Indianapolis barbers are completing plans today for a city-wide educational and advertising campaign. W. V. Fuller is chairman of the program committee. Other members include W. H. Beaver, Russel Timmons. Harry Skidmore and Lowell Canary. Classes In barber science, open to all barbers in the city, are being formed, G. B Nichols, educational chairman, announced.

KERN PROPOSES LEVY FUND FOR RAIL ELEVATION Mayor to Continue Drive for South Side Program. He Reveals. Announcing his intention to keep working for South Side track elevation, Mayor Kern today said he favored building up a fund for this work through a city budget levy. Following a conference yesterday, Mayor Kern said the State Highway Commission disagreed with the Federal Budget Bureau ruling that elevation should come through the state road body. * The commissioners said there are no funds from the highway allotments of the Federal government available for elevation now.
