TECH PROGRAM IS ATTENDED BY 11.000 PERSONS Education Week Observed by Schools With Open House. Education Week programs were held yestciday and last night throughout the Indianapolis public school system. Virgil Stinebaugh, school curriculum revision director, spoke at the School 43 Parent-Teacher observance, and 11,000 persons attended the Technical High School open house last night. "Today we have the child-cen-tered school, where the premium s placed on the child and not the subject matter,” Mr. Stinebaugh said. He outlined the progress of education through to the present day. At the high school open house. 133 classes representing 18 departments held demonstration meetings for visitors, in an address over the public address system, Principal DeWitt Morgan explained that "all work is done by contact between teacher and pupil, working out daily problems.” A. COL. KNOX DUE TO SPEAK HERE MONDAY NIGHT Chicago Publisher to Be Honor Guest at Pair of Receptions. Col. Frank Knox, Chicago publisher, is to speak at the Murat Temple under auspices of the Irvington Republican Club Monday at 3:15. On his arrival Col. Knox will attend a luncheon in his honor at the Columbia Club. He is to be honor guest at two receptions in the afternoon and leave for Chicago immediately after his address at the temple.
