'HEAD THE STORY, THEN COLOR THE PICTURE)
The Tinymites laughed at the scene of Duncy being washed up clean. Then Dotty shouted, “I am next. Don’t get soap in my eyes. "I will behave real well, you’ll find, ’cause this is something I don't mind. The fact that Duncy didn't kick, quite filled me with surprise. “Ho usually’s a fussy lad, and when he’s washed, it is too bad. This time, however, he stood still. At last he's getting smart.’’ The woman smiled and then replied, “Perhaps it is because I tried to be real careful. You all must be washed ere I depart.’’ At last the tedious task was done and all agreed that it was fun. ‘ I really feel much fresher,” said wee Windy, with a smile. “Cold water feels good, now and then. I won’t mind being washed again, and having both my ears scrubbed, if you’ll wait a little while."

SOMETIMES, in old houses, it is possible to hear a faint, tickling sound which seems to come from the woodwork. “Oh, I must leave,” the woman said. "You’ll all meet tv’c new friends, instead. Now, when I whistle long and low, they'll run right into sight. “They’re just as strange as they can be, as you will very shortly see. However, they won’t harm you, so there is no cause for fright." “Go right ahead and whistle. Gee, a funny sight we’re going to see,” cried Coppy. Then, the woman did, and what she said came true. A tooth brush and a tube of paste came running from afar, in haste. When they got near the Tinies, they both shouted, “Howdy do!” And then the tooth brush said, "By chance, perhaps you’d like to see us dance. We’ll gladly do one little act, and then not any more. “Laugh all you wish. It’s quite all right. We know we’ll be a funny sight. Then, when we’re through, we’ll tell you what we really came here for.”

TARZAN AND THE FIRE GODS
With his small squad of Alexandrian soldiers, Tarzan was ready to give battle to the superior forces of the shiftas. Quickly he explained to Lady Beth and Jerry. “I'll go with you.” Beth offered; "I must interpret ycur commands to the soldiers.”

True enough, Tarzan could not maneuver his “army” without her aid. “If she goes, I shall go, too,” Jerry declared firmly. The ape-man pointed out to them the danger they would encounter. “The brigands have firearms, and ours are the weapons of antiquity.”

Jerry and Beth were unmoved, however, and at last Tarzan gave his consent, certain in his own mind that he would be able to give them protection. Now, at his sharp command, the guardsmen moved forward, the grim light of battle burning fiercely in their ej^s.
—By Edgar Rice Burroughs
The Jungle Lord moved on in advance to reconnoitre and map out his strategy for counteracting the advantages which the shiftas had in numbers and armament. Soon he heard their shouts again, and he wondered if perchance they had discovered Tommy and Arbeia!
