EVENT TO OPEN ! AUDITORIUM OF BLOCK COMPANY Daughters of Isabella to Sponsor Tea and Style Show. Opening of the new Win. H. Blork Cos. auditorium is to take place Saturday aftcrni on with a bridge tea and .style show sponsored by the Daughters of I nbella. A musical program will be presented during 'he afternoon. Table reservations are limited to 100. The hostess will be Mi.-s Catherine M. Fletcher of the Block Cos. She will be assisted by Miss Hannah C. Dugan, regent of the Daughters of Isabella. Ryan and J. J. Schattner. The new auditorium is on the Sixth floor of the addition to the Block store. It will seat 700 persons and is air-conditioned. The auditorium will be used to promote Civic, social and cultural interests. The stage is equipped for salon fend culinary demonstrations and has an extendable platform for style shows and musicales. The mural decorations con.sist of four semi-cir-Cular panels set in each of the four corners of the auditorium, 12 feet •wide and 18 feet high, of inlaid fc'oods in contrasting shades. The four subjects depicted are Queen Isabella pawning her jewels to finance the voyage of Columbus to the New World; Queen Elizabeth of England commissioning Sir Walter Raleigh to colonize America; Betsy Ross and the American flag, typifying the spirit of American Womanhood, and Nancy Hanks Lincoln, mother of Abraham Lincoln, typifying the spirit of the pioneer mother of Indiana.
