Circle Shows Film Taken in Ethiopia Murder Story. ‘The 39 Steps,’ Also Presented on Current Bill. Knowing that all Indianapolis is Interested in Ethiopia and that the screen seldom has reflected actual conditions in that country, the management of the Circle Theater today presented "Wings Over Ethiopia” as a special attraction along with the feature. ' The 39 Steps.” with Robert Dcnat and Madeleine Carroll as the leading players. After hi.s adventures * with wits und sword in 1 The Count of Monte Cristo.” Donat turns to adventure without swords in "The 31 Steps.” It all happened beeau.se, baek in London after a visit to Canada, Richard Hannay decides to take in a vaudeville show. A shot is fired, in the audience, there is a panic and Hannay finds himself befriending a strange young woman. .She is a secret agent on the trail of a spy organization engaged in taking out of the country an Air Ministry secret. Afterward she is stabbed to death in Hannay’s apart|nont and although the police are thot on his trail for the girl’s murder, he derides to carry on her unfinished work. As soon as he makes hi.s decision, hr is plunged into danger and daring deeds. Part of the time he is handcuffed to a beautiful girl who thinks he is a murderer anri a bully. At first she hates him fiercely or thinks she does and then comes romance and even love. "The 39 Steps” was directed by ’Alfred Hitchcock, responsible for the thriller, "The Man Who Knew Too Much.” It is an adaptation by Charles Bennett of a novel by Lord Twcedlesmuir <John Buchan), CanAria's new Governor-General. Featured with Donat and Miss Carroll are Lucie Mannheim, Godfrey Tearle and Peggy Ashcraft. McCrea, Alice Brady, Cast in New Film By T<mr . Special HOLLYWOOD.
