TERRE HAUTE'S DEFENSE BODY IS REORGANIZED Socialist, Labor Group to Fight ’Dictatorship' in Vigo County. TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Oct. 17. Reorganization of the Terre Haute Socialist and Tabor Defense League, winch was formed * o oppose the “military dictatorship" in Vigo County, was announced today. The new committee, which is directly responsible to and sponsored by the Central Labor Union, was to meet today to draft its program of opposition to martial law m the area. The new r committee is composed of Tom N. Fuson, secretary-treas-urer of the Central Labor Union; Max Schafer, union vice president; O. B. Sourcie, Ernest Phipps, O. G. Dreiman, Maurice Heuer, treasurer of the enamel workers union; C. L. Link, Lawrence Eilburn, Virgil Morris and Harmon Blood. Six members of the oriignal committee were omitted in the reorganization. The committee also announced that Joseph M. Jacobs, attorney for the Chicago Central Labor Union, has been dropped from its legal staff. TEST SOIL FOR BUILDING Seek Type of Earth for Foundation of Postofflre Wing. A 10-foot test hole, to determine (lie character of soil for the foundation of tiie new Federal Building wing, is being sunk on the New York-st side of the present structure. McQuire As Shook, architects, are directing the work. The sum of $1,315,000 has been appropriated for the project but plans are incomplete and it is not known when construction will begin. NEGRO VOTERS TO MEET Mrs. Powers llapgood to Discuss Organization Program. Organization of a Negro Voters' League is to be discussed tonight at Bat a meeting at Eugene-st and North western-a v.
