CHURCH SCHOOL HEADS TO MAP SUMMER WORK 10.000 Children in Vacation Classes Is Goal of Leaders. Npw methods and materials in the summer vacation church schools ■will be discussed tomorrow and all day May 8, when teachers, leaders and directors of Marion County vacation church schools will meet in the Y. W. C. A. All new material will center around interests of child life, and an effort will be made to register 10,000 Indianapolis children in the summer vacation church schools. Last year more than 5000 Indianapolis children were enter*] in the schools. The new methods have been adopted by leaders in various denominations. Leaders interested in the new curriculum are A H Backus, of the Methodist church; Dr W. R. Jewell, of the Baptist denomination; Miss Elizabeth Taft, Presbyterian board member; John Harms, Indiana religious education director of Disciples of Christ churches; the Rev. R. H. Mueller, Evangelical denomination, and Bishop H. H. Fout, United Brethren churches. Roy Burt Farm-bom, a Methodist Episcopal Church pastor, Roy Burt will lecture on Socialism at 3 Sunday in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 143 E. Ohio-st. as the May Day celebration of the Socialist Party of Marion County.

Clive McGuire, Federated Baptist Churches secretary: Miss Martha Bennett, religious education director of the Fairview Presbyterian Church, and Miss Nellie C. Young, program chairman. STATE POLIGE RADIO SYSTEM STARTS TODAY Continuous Broadcasts to Be Made From Three of Five Stations. Continuous broadcasting will be started today in the Indianapolis, Jasper and Culver units of the Indiana state police radio system, according to A1 G. Feeney, state safety director. Mr. Feeney said five transmitters have been purchased for the system and broadcasting will start at the other two stations at Seymour and Columbia City in a short time. Receiving sets have been installed in the seven state police barracks and in police cars. Receiving sets will be installed on 20 motorcycles to be purchased at once. Call letters asigned the stations by the Federal Radio Commission ere: Indianapolis, WPHE; Culver. WPHS; Columbia City, WQFD: Jasper, WPHU, and Seymour, WQHE. Ruth Lyon, soprano, will be heard in a 15-inmute concert recital Friday at 8 p. m., over an NBC-WJZ network. ! yesterday that state and national church organizations will be combined into one organization. The unification, to be headed by C. O. Hawley, Indianapolis, will be in effect July 1. Mr. Hawley is secretary of promotion of the United Christian Missionary Society. Decision of the board was reached at a meetinc yesterday. The organizations affected are the missionary society, the pension fund, the board of extension, the board of education, the board of temperance and welfare and the Association for Christian Union.
