April s—Millions of dollars in salaries paid annually to Americas big business men were disclosed today in score* of reports on file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Salaries ranging from 150,000 to more than SIOO,OOO were recorded in applications of large companies seeking permanent registration for their securities on the national stock exchanges. The largest salary report was that of Edward G. Seubert, Chicago, president of the Standard Oil Cos. ‘lndiana), who drew $117,900. Other large salaries in this company w'ere Charles J. Barkdull, vice-president, $51,400: Allan Jackson, vice-presi-dent, $64,800; Robert H. McElroy, vice-president, $54,900; Edward J. Bullock, vice-president, $60,300. James H. Rand Jr., Buffalo, president of Remington Rand, Inc., got $94 130 and Bejamin L. Winched, New York, chairman of the tive committee, $40,160. Herahey Head Gets $91,550 Other salaries: William F. R. Murrie, Hershey, Pa., president-director, Hershey Chocolate Corp.. $91,550. Francis H. Brownell, New York, board chairman, American Smelting and Refiining Cos.. SIOO,OOO, and Simon Guggenheim. Humphrey, San Francisco, president. Associated Oil Cos.. $48,195. Mr. Humphrey said he received also $60,000 as president of the Tidewater Associated Oil Cos., and associates. St. Louis; H. T. Bussman, St. Louis; Glenn M. Waters. Minneapolis. and H. C. Genter. Minneapolis, all vice-presidents, received $14,400 each. R. C. Suhr. Cleveland. 0.. president, City Ice and Fuel Cos.. $40,500. Many corporations, including F. W. Woolworth Cos.. General Motors Corp., Cord Corp. and Hudson Motor Car Cos., filed their registration applications but did not disclose salaries, saying that they would make a supplemental report.
