SIX MEN FACE 'BUCKET SHOP' CHARGES HERE Books Seized in Raid Are Studied by Probers: Affidavits Likely. Th* books of the C J Morley A Cos. alleged bucket shop, seized in a raid on it* office in the Merchants Bank Building yesterday, were being studied today by Prosector Herbert M Spenrer ind representatives of the State Secun'ies Commission. Mr. Spenr-r said today that he would file affidavits within the next 12 hours against the six men arrested on John Do* affidavit charging obtaining money under false pretence. Those under arrest and released late yesterday on $2500 bond are William J. Stevenson, 42, Denver. Colo; Robert Havnes, 25. Denver; J. M Vonbrark. 35; O. T. Anderson, sk; James Vincent. 35. and Joseph Forlane, 30, all of the Pennsylvania Hotel. C. J. Morley, former Governor of Colorado, today informed a correspondent of The Indianapolis Times. 1 that he had not been aware until reeentlv that the firm had been using his name and that he had aent a letter demanding that the Indianapolis group withdraw his name from any connection with the organza*ion. Mr. Stevenson, who is believed to be a Denver mining promoter, de- ; nied to raiding authorities that he had any official connection with the firm. H* was charged, however, at police headquarters with the false pretense charge while the others were slated on vagrancy charges. The affidavit was signed by Brainrd Nelson, a Morristown <lnd. canncr. who claimed that he had been defrauded of sll3O by the firm. He was represented in the j investigation by Michael Glenn, a

Clubs and of the Law Enforcement League of Indiana, Inc., will meet March 22 to formulate plans for a campaign against the inconsistencies of Indianapolis traffic ordinances. Walter Rothermel, central committee chairman, has announced that particular emphasis will be placed on a study of the present tail light ordinance and on the failure of railroads to provide adequate crossing protection. COUNTRY CLUB FROWNS ON HOMESTEAD PLAN Directors Meet for Possible Action in Opposition Today. Directors of the fashionable Indianapolis Country Club were to meet at the Columbia Club today to consider adopting a resolution opposing the proposed Federal
homestead subsistence project west of the city near the country club. A local committee of Negro and white civic leaders are working to obtain a 5490.000 government grant to build 140 dwellings on a 310-acre tract near the Indiana Girls'School at Clermont. The Inriianapolisr Girl Scouts yesterday adopted a motion protesting against the project. The Girl Scout camp is located near the proposed site.
