MOVE TO RAISE TAX LEVY MAY DELAY REPEAL Amendments Offered in Senate Threaten ‘Pink Slip" Vote. By tmltrd Pr*t WASHINGTON, March 14— An *!?ort to open up the whole tax situation and impose higher income and excess profit* taxes today threatened to delay action on repeal of the “ping slip" publicity law. While the repeal bill passed by the House was awaiting Senate action a movement developed to saddle it with tax legislation to provide funds for the immense expenditures proposed by the Administration. It was estimated that amendments offered by Senators Robert M La FoUette <R. Wis.) and James Couxens <R. Mich * would yield more than SSOO 000.000 annually. The House bill repealing the pink slip is an amendment to the Revenue Act of 1934 and therefore any amendments to it would become part of the tux laws A > -eport on the repeal bill by \h- Senate Finance Committee brought the promise from its chairman. Pat Harrison I D. Miss , that it voutd be taken up immediately after passage of the work relief bill. The long-drawn-out debate on that bill and the threat of a filibuster by Senator Huey Long made it certain hat the pink slip repealer will not considered today. Even though persons making income tax returns must fill out the controversial pink slip*, beginning tomorrow, there was little chance they will be made public. Passage of the repeal measure was strong.y indicated in a United Press poll, which showed 55 Senators intended to vote for and 17 against it. Harrison said he had learned from the Treasury that It would be impossible to make the slips public before mid-summer.

My stomach, bowels and kidneys were in an awful condition. Food soured in my stomach shortly after eating and seemed to lay there like a rock Gas formed and bloated me until I could hardly stand the pain around my heart and through my chest. I w as subject to dizzy spells and sick headaches that lasted for days. My kidneys gave me a lot of trouble and caused me to have severe pains through mv back. I had to be taking laxatives all the time to keep my bowels moving. Rheumatism had a terrible grip on me. The joint* in my limbs were so sore and swollen that it was painful for me to walk. “I got Indo-Vin and will say to everybody that here is REAL and GENUINE medicine for a person to take. I n*ver saw anything so immediately eflective like this is in fact. I just took three bottles and felt like a NEW MAN. It has put a complete stop to all the gas and •.w-ful bloating spells I used to ha~e. and I am not afraid to eat auy more because my food !s dig>stmg as good as it did when I was a child. The dizziness and headaches have disappeared, and it drove all of these sharp pains out of my back and put an end to the •oreness and misery across my kidneys. I? gave me a splendid appetite and regulated my bowels perfectly. The joints of my limbs are limbered up now and I don’t have a touch of rheumatism left in my body. In fact. I haven’t got a single ache or pain anywhere in my body. X am 49 years old and I will recommend this medicine if I live to be a hundred." FAIR-VIEW? YOU SAID IT! QUEEN JANE IS PROOF

Jane Hennessey .... Ah, Fair-view
JANE HENNESSEY is tickled pink. The expression is colloquial, but it is also Miss Hennessey's. The strikingly beautiful brunet daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hennessey, 340 E. Maple-rd. used it today to describe her emotions last night when she was notified that she had been elected queen of the 1935 Butler relays. Miss Hennessey is known on the Butler campus as ‘"Blushing Jane,” but she showed no hesitancy over being interviewed today. It was, in fact, her idea that she might write the interview herself. She attributed the idea to the fact that she is “majoring” in journalism. “This might be mv big chance,” she laughed. “I owe it all to the old adage —'Early to bed, early to rise,’ ” she continued, surrounded by a court pro tern, on the front porch of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house, 442 W. 46th-st.

SHE possesses a facile tongue and, according to her Theta sisters, many a not-too-bashful swain has sulked from her door, bested and banished by her nimble use of English. Miss Hennessey has kept Butler hearts a-twitter for two years. She went to the college from St. Agnes Academy. Competing with representatives of every sorcrity on the Butler campus, she received 13 votes out of the 18 cast for queen by captains of the ‘earns entered in the relays. These are to be held March 23 at the fieldhouse. The queen spends most of her time, hiding her beauty, behind horn-rimmed spectacles, at w r ork on the staff of the Butler Collegian. At least, she said today that, when she finished college, she thought it would be a dandy idea if she could get a job on this paper.
