NEW MONETARY PLAN SEEN AS MILO INFLATION
Effects of Proposal Are Explained by U. S. Officials. Dy T'mite4 Prrs# WASHINGTON March 12-The Federal government's new money plan will have no immediate effect on the $5 bill in an average person's j pocket. It vnll still buy the same amoun' of food, clothing or tobacco and all money will continue to be legal tender for all debts. Other answers to the Treasury's new money plan were supplied today by officials as follows: Q- What will happen to my national bank note? A—When it gets to a bank, it will be withdrawn from circulation and replaced with a Federal Reserve note. Q—Why is national bank money being retired from circulation? Roth U. S. Obligations A—To reduce outstanding currency to fewer categories and to give the Federal government and the Reserve banks sole power to: issue money as they deem necessary. Q—What is the difference between a national bank note which is being retired and a Federal Reserve note which will replace it? A—Both are government obligations. The national bank note is j backed 100 per cent with government bonds pledged bv the issuing 1 bank with the Treasury’! The Re- j serve note is issued by a Federal Reserve Bank and has a minimum ! gold backing of 40 per cent and the remainder in various obligations. Q Why are the bonds backing the national bank notes being re- i tired? A To save the government sl3.- 1 500 000 annually in interest charges, to take the national banks out of the field and to abolish the previous dual system of money issuance. Gold Profits Used Q Did the Supreme Court gold decision influence the government in taking this step? A—Possibly. Retirement of the j bonds will remove that amount of "gold clause** bonds which mieht prove a liability to the government j should it ever be forced to pay gold ; obligations with predevaluation dollars at a radio of $1 69 for each $1 of bond face value. Q—ls the plan inflationary? A It has definite though moderate inflation implications, a part of the gold profits are being spent j and made available for issuance of additional money. YOU'LL notice me writing from time to time about air transportation and boosting this means of getting around. Well, there’s a very good reason why I should. I am reminded of an instance a couple of years ago when I was negotiating for representative flyers from European countries to come over to America for our National Air Races. I was in a tight spot . . . where time was most important. I called London by telephone from Berlin at 8 a. m. and made arrangements for British aviation authorities to meet me at 8:30 p. m. in the Mayfair Hotel. London. Mrs. Williams and myself set out from Berlin, changed planes at Hanover, Germany, and again at Amsterdam. Holland. We arrived in London in time to keep my appoinmtent and settled our business before 10 p. m., then sailed for America next morning. That was cutting corners rather fine, but we made it by air.

Couldn’t have done it otherwise. This is one reason why I am an air-travel fan. In the United States speed is a dominant factor in air transportation, in business and in American life. Our restless energy and speedy thinking, traveling and acting sets us apart from all the rest of the world. Until a few years ago the doubting Thomases were inclined to beltfve that flying in general would never become an important factor in our lives . . . that flying of any kind was an activity only indulged in by those who had a superabundance of courage. The time will come when those who don’t fly will be the rarity. QUESTION— What is a barrel roll? A stunt maneuver in which the plane flies horizontally while the wings rotate laterally around this line of flight. There are two rolls —the slow roll and the snap roll. The latter is a spin around a horizontal axis.

scientific mixture of Extracts from Medicinal Plants, known as IndoVin, which is now being introduced to crowds daily here in Indianapolis by The Indo-Vin Man in person at Hook's Drug Store, Illinois and Washington Streets. Following is this widely - known Indianapolis lady's statement: “For years I was a victim of kidney trouble,’’ said Mrs. Barnes. “I had a dull ache across the small of my back both day and night. At night I had to rise two and three times, which broke up my sleep and I would get up in the mornings feeling tired and worn out. At times I was subject to awful dizzy spells and I had to lie down for awhile. My liver and bowels were in an awful condition and I had to take laxatives CONTINUALLY for bowel constipation. Toward last these laxatives seemed to do me no good. Besides all this misery, I suffered something terrible from neuritis. Sharp, aching pains would strike me in my limbs and especially through my shoulders and back. Sometimes I could not walk without LIMPING and FLINCHING from the pain and misery. “I was in an awful condition and no medicine seemed to act on me at all, but finally I found Indo-Vin and it has worked the misery and suffering out of my whole body. My kidneys are normal now and they don't get me up at nights like they used to. It drove all of these sharp pains out of my back and put an end to the soreness and misery across my kidneys. The dizziness has disappeared entirely. Indo-Vin certainly has a wonderful action on the bowels. Mine are now regular for the first time in years, and without the aid of strong laxatives. The awful neuritis pains have gone out of my limbs and shoulders and I don't have a touch of it left in my whole body. What a blessing it was to be relieved of all this suffering. I heartily indorse it to all, because at my age of 75 I have never found a better medicine to relieve human ailments.” The Indo-Vin Man is now at Hook's Drug Store, Illinois and Washington Streets, here in Indianapolis, daily meeting the public and introducing and explaining this new mixture of Nature's Medicines. —Advertisement.
