Ruusell Austin, 23-year-old paroled convict, faced the possibility of ; criminal assault and kidnaping ! charges today in connection with abduction Tuesday of Dorothea Emmons. attractive 17-year-old high school girl. Police said Austin admitted that he attacked Miss Emmons after an all-day ride in a stolen automobile over northern Indiana roads. The I girl at first refused comment, but

later admitted the truth of Austin's confession. Austin was arrested yesterday and returned here when Dowagiac • Mich.) police found him asleep in his automobile. Miss Emmons disappeared Tuesday when Austin drove her away from South Bend after sending her mother into a grocery to answer a pretended telephone call. The three were on their way to a physician's office to obtain treatment of minor injuries suffered by Miss Emmons in an automobile accident. Austin was paroled last year from a 5-to-15-year term in Jackson (Mich.) penitentiary for robbery. He admited stealing the car found in his possession.
