A Woman’s Viewpoint BY MRS. WALTER FERGLSON
THE littlest Ferguson and I are off on a great adventure into the land of king? and cavaliers, with the Incomparable Alexandre Dumas. Can you remember v*hen you first met the Three Mu keteers and became involved in all the intrigues of the court, fighting beside the doughArtagnan. or t: magn.firently nonchalant Duke of Buckingham? Three times I have made this magic journey, once alone and once again with each of my children. Now the last of them has begun as the youngest son reaches the blessed •rate of boyhood. Wide-eyed. long-legged, the littlest Ferguson lies prone on the floor; the wood fire crackles; the cold wind blow? outside. I open the book, and were off with the famous guard man, striding cloaked and mvj'enous. through the streets of Paris duelling our dangerous way to f me and fortune, or peeking in u ,y, ;; ;e royal privacy of Anne of Austria. Os purest romance are these tales fr m the bram of the half-French. half-Negro genius—the kind of romance that never dies. What a I rltage of delight he left behind 1 in! And the excitement of these stories will be enhanced for you if I -~t r* ad them with a child. How t .e* and starry-eyed he grows, na ched for a little while from his *s. riu - occupations. had this moment when our hearts beat as one and we attain real comradeship. Fervently I repeat the old benediction. “May Blessings be upon the head of Cadmus, the Phoenician. or whoever it was that invented books.” URGE CHANGE IN CITYJJISTRICTS Legislators Would Make Them Correspond to Ward Lines. The horrified Obroskl exclaimed incredulously: “You don’t mean to say they're cannibals!" “Basuto not eat men all time; not eat all men,” Kawamudi replied calmy. “Only chiefs, brave men. strong men. Eat brave men. make them brave; eat strong men, make the strong; eat chiefs, make them wise.”

THE INDIAHAPOLTS TIMES
The captive white man fell silent. Soon his aching brain began to tnrob to the weird, mournful rhythm of the tom-toms outside, for now the Basutr warriors had begun to dance in celebration of their victory and in contemplation of the orgy of torture and death in which they were soon to be engaged....

. . . Through the jungle night the steady beat of the Basuto drums reached the keen ears of Tarzan of the Apes. But he was too accustomed to the ways of savages to be greatly interested. Just a tribal fete, he thought. So Tarzan and Jad-bal-ja, his trained lion, continued on their hunt, without investigating the clamor. . . .

, .... Stanley Obroski welcomed the dawn, for then the dancing and the shouting ceased, and the village slept. It was well after noon when warriors came to the hut. They kicked and dragged the prisoners into the open and jerked them to their feet. This, thought Obroskl, was the end —the end he had awaited!
