It is gratifying to find a woman tackling the problem by the simple process of asking to outlaw it from the dockets. Tne whole conception of feminine equality is destroyed every time a woman hales a man Into court and collects because he decides he doesn't want to merry her. The theory that money pays .'or broken hearts is a repudiation cf all that is decent and ethical and fine In the relationship of men and women. When we gave the courts jurisdiction over the affections, we established a form oT banditry which armed every unmoral woman with a deadly weapon and left every sucker with money her easy prey—to say nothing of increasing the possibilities of loot for lawyers. One aspect of the matter has b • n especially curious it is invariably the good-looking dame with the high-powered sex appeal who gets the sympathy and the money.
