CHARGING that this Is a man's world, and' probably will terrain so. Helen Van Pelt Wilson discusses in Scribner's the well worn topic of getting a daughter married ofl. She gives the usual warnings against any dLplay of Intelligence, and advocates the crushing of the sms* of humor, since ‘ men are undeniably vain.” Getting a husband seems to be an Increasingly difficult business, if we are to believe printed reports. Anyway the wheel of time is slowly turning and once more we art coming around to the theory so popular in Jane Austen’s day: “Get a husband. any kind of husband, by hook or by crook.” So we are beginning to teach our girls charm—feminine charm, we call It, putting out the old bait for suckers. It's comparatively easy. Good grooming; disguise brains, if you have them: assume that oh-how-wonderful-you-are attitude, then let nature take Its course. This kind of advice Is fine for girls who have no brains, but in my opinion it Isn't worth a hoot to tnose BUTLER PROFESSOR TO HOLD NIGHT CLASSES 16 Hours of Romance Languages Offered Students.
