POLICE NAB SIX AS SUSPECTS IN HOLDUP SERIES Women Are Said to Have Identified One as Lunch Wagon Bandit. Police today held six suspects for questioning in connection with three holdups yesterday and eariy today. Just 11 minutes after a lunch wagon at 906 E. Washington-st had been held up early today police picked up George Jordan, 27. of 942 E. Vermont-st. as a suspect. Mrs. Mildred Kuhn. 28. Eastgate Hotel, and Miss Mane Devore. 37. of 71? E. Vermont-st, who were in the "wagon” at the time, identified Jordan as the man who robbed them of $6. according to police. He was charged with vagrancy and a woman companion. BALTZELL TO INSTALL NEW BUM HEAD Federal Judge Named Chief of Group to Induct Dean Putnam. When Dr James W. Putnam is inaugurated president of Butler University at ceremonies on the Fairview campus at noon Thursday, Feb. 7, a committee from the university aoard of trustees will be in charge. They are Federal Judge Robert C. Baltzell, who will be the chief installing officer; John W. Atherton, E'msley W. Johnson and Lee Bums. They have been appointed to serve by Hilton U. Brown, board chairman. The ceremonies w-ill be part of the fifty-third annual Butler Founders’ Day celebration. The inauguration will be brief with Dr. Putnam making the only address.
