A Womans Viewpoint BY MRS. WALTER FERGUSON
THERE are times when I admire Mussolini. He is so corkistent with his reforms. For example, on the heels of his edict firing married women from industry he Lssues another saying bachelors will go next. The mast important qualification, therefore, for the Italian man who wishes to keep working is a wife. Is this not logical? Homes, we take it, are to be the first consideration in Italy. Quite naturally, men are equally responsible with women for their establishment and preservation. Nothing could be more unfair, in a state where the family is the sacred item, than to allow men to marry or not as the fancy suits, while at the same time you deprive a woman of her right to work. The desire for work is a kind of hunger, like the desire for food and love. It has also been implanted within many a feminine being. No human mandates can crush or destroy it. And to speak plainly, by BUTLER WILL ORGANIZE SONS*OF GRADUATES Group to Be Formed Today, According to Proposals. Plans are under way at Butler University to form an organization of all sons and daughters of Butler graduates who are enrolled at the present time. Miss Sarah Sisson, alumni secretary said there are 39 students whose parents are Butler graduates. The group was to meet today and organize.

what right does a man or a group of men order women out of active participation in any field of endeavor? Only, friends, by the right of that special privilege which the male has arrogated to himself. How many times do we quote the immortal Lincoln, “No country can exist half slave and half free?” It is a wise saying, having other than purely racial significance. Wherever women are in economic bondage, men can not be free, for if daughters, sisters, wives are not allowed to earn, it follows that men must work for them. When they refuse to assume their share of feminine support, they will be compelled to do so. Here, then, we face a pertinent question. Is man free in any society where he must either marry or starve? 4 COMMUNITY DANCES TO BE HELD TONIGHT First of Series Arranged by County Recreation Committee. Four community dances, first of a series planned by the Marion County Recreation Committee, will be held tonight. Rhodius Club House, Municipal Gardens, Walker Casino and Hill Community Center will be the scenes of tonight's activity, according to E. B. Ball, committee supervisor, with the latter two reserved for Negroes. Entertainment of unusual quality is assured by officials for the weekly program at Tomlinson Hall tomorrow night.

As Rhonda sat at the writing table, Gordon Z. Marcus approached. She picked up the folded parchment and said to him: “I Just found this map in my portfolio. In the last scene we shot they were taking close-ups of me examining it. I wonder if they want it again. I’d like to swipe it as a souvenir.”

“Keep it until they ask for it,” Marcus suggested. "Perhaps they're through with it. It’s very authentic-looking, isn’t it?” I wonder if they made it in the studio.” As Rhonda unfolded the strange document, the Arab Atewy moved closer. He counterfeited a casual manner, but anew light blazed in his sinister eyes.

“No,” Rhonda answered. “The author of the story we’re shooting found it between the leaves of a book he bought in a second-hand store. It interested him, and he wrote our story around this old map. Intriguing, isn’t it? Almost makes one believe that by following it, one could find a real Valley of Diamonds.”
—By Edgar Rice Burroughs
Marcus turned suddenly and saw Atewy. The Arab smiled, and Marcus took no further notice of him. The Americans were accustomed to Atewy circulating among them. His awkward attempts at joviality did not suggest to them that he might be hiding some ulterior motive; and he well hid his interest in the map!
