New Year’s Open Houses to Be Held Propylaeum Club Event Among Traditions of City. On New Year’s day we annually celebrate the arrival of another year, and mark the end of the holiday season. This year we will look back on one of
the fullest Yuletide programs for several years. We won t fail to visit the Propylaeum Club's annual open house. It has been traditional since the nineties for the club to receive al lthe stockholders. club members and their families from 4 to 7 on New Year’s day. For more than

40 years many of the same friends have called at the club. Mrs. Henry D. Pierce is one of the founders and original officers whom members look for at the open houses, and she will attend this year, health permitting. Board members are invited to be in the receiving line. Mrs. Arthur V. Brown is president this year, and other members are Mesdames William Ray Adams, Augustus Coburn, Oscar N. Torian, Edson T. Wood, Fletcher Hodges, Kin Hubbard, Frederick R. Kautz. Mrs. Edward Hodges, mother-in-law of Mrs. Hodges, was one of the founders who assisted at the first open house, which was held in the original clubhouse. Mrs. Ovid Butler Jameson’s traditional New Year’s Day open house will be held at the Jameson home, Barley Bright. Mrs. Edgar H. Evans and Mrs. Charles Morris Williams will pour at the tea table. More Than 700 Reserve Tables for Athletic Club Party
Indianapolis Athletic Club is prepared for its annual Newr Year’s eve celebration. Unique decorations in both the ballroom and lantern room; dancing to the orchestras of Louis Lowe and Gordon Carper, and a floor show by the Hollywood revue will entertain members and their guests. Dorothy Hanford, dancer, will be starred in the floor show presentations. Other stars include Charlotte Van Dae, soubrette; the dance team of Gagnon and Broughton; the sister team, Marge and Marie, and Peggy Laurie, who will do song and dance numbers. Dancing will begin in the ballroom and lantern room at 9:30 and supper will be served until 12:30. Table decorations will include a variety of noisemakers, paper hats and favors for women.
