STAGE FOLK CONSIDER 1935 RESOLUTIONS

Decide They'll Do Only What Pleases Them Walter Huston Would Like to Cover Vaudeville Circuit Again. Will) 1935 staring them in the face, many of Broadway's leading players have settled down to compile their New Year's resolutions. Aside from such minor vices as smoking, swearing, and over-indul-gence in sweets, they've gone at the business in a forth-right manner and faced the problems of the impending year in frank and vigorous fashion. Walter Huston, for instance, has resolved to revisit as many as possible of the towns that liked him in the song-and-dance days. Long before he had aroused Broadway with his performance as Ephraim Cabot in Eugene ONeills "Desire Under the Elms,” Mr. Huston was a favorite of vaudeville audiences throughout the country. For the past five years he has been luxuriating under the California sun, filming such pictures as "Abraham Lincoln,” "Hell Below,” and "Gabriel Over the White Ho;.se." Early in 1934 he returned to Broadway in Max Gordon’s production of "Dodsworth,” which is scheduled to close shortly in the face of excellent business at the Shubert theater in New York because Walter Huston wants to see the country again. He's planning to play "Dodsworth” ! .n the towns that haven’t seen him since he sang “I Haven’t Got the Do, Re, Mi, ’ in vaudeville. Fay Bainter, who appears opposite Mr. Huston in “Dodsworth,” has a resolution of her own. She is determined never to accept another part until she has learned how many changes of costume is involves. As Fran Dodsworth she wears nine different gowns throughout the course of each performance and she expects to spend the greater part of 1935 as she spent most of 1934—in Changing from one dress to another. At the Center theater in Radio City, where Max Gordon's spectacular operetta, “The Great Waltz,” is setting new attendance records at every holiday performance, there
