PROF, SHULTZ TO LECTURE AT SCIENCE PARLEY Other Butler Educators to Attend Various Parleys During Week. Dr, Irv-n T. Shultz, of the Butler University faculty, will read a paper at the American Association for the i Advancement of Science meeting in 1 Pittsburgh Thursday, it was announced today. His subject will be “Individual Variations on Similar Leamine Tests.” Another Butler faculty member,! Dean Frederick D. Kershner. is on the program of the American So-; ciety of Church History which convenes in Washington. D. C.. next week. Dean Kershner will give the report of the research committee. URGES PAROLE LAWCHANGES Elimination of Banishment From State Clause Recommended. Changes in parole practice including elimination of banishment from the stats? as a provision of clemency were agreed upon at Chicago at the conference of central states officials attended by Atty. Gen. Philip M. Lutz. Mr. Lutz said he would recommend to Governor Paul V. McNutt the passage of legislation permitting Indiana to join in the agreement. Other terms of the compact provide for release of paroles and probationers to other states only when they have families in the receiving state or are residents of that state; return of probation violators from other states without extradition proceedings; placing paroled persons under supervision of the state into which they move; authorization of Governors of states in the compact to appoint legal representatives and adopt rules to have the same weight as law and effectiveness of the compact when it is signed by two states, regardless of action by any other state. Rehearsals have begun at Butler University for “Hoodoo,'’ first semester major production of the Thespis Dramatic Society, which will be given in Arthur Jordan Memorial Hall during the second week in January. Gale-st, early last night. George Marvin, 2048 N. Olney-st, an employe, told police he was compelled to lie beneath a counter while the robber scooped $35 from a cash register. The thief, he said, wore a hankerchief over his face. Injures Hip in Fall Mrs. Edgar Foltz, 55, residing at 1905 South High School-rd. was reported recovering today after a fall which resulted in injury w> her right hip. She slipped on icy pavement in the 100 block E. Washing-ton-st yesterday.
