Chateau Lido Adds Chorus to Daily Bill Four Chateauettes Will Feature Each Regular Performance. The Chateau Lido has added a line of chorus girls to the regular floor show staff. The girls, known as the Pour Chateauettes, will be a special feature with each floor show, doing background work and novelties. The headliner on the current bill Is the Manhattan Trio, one boy and two girls, who are seen in several adagio and comedy dance numbers. Jo Arnold, recently returned from a long stay in a Cleveland night place, is handling the blues singing part of the Lido program. Dick Harold, accordionist, has returned to the fold at the Chateau Lido, and is heard with Gene Wood and his music.
Blue Room Hires Trio Dixie Group Will Feature at Graylyn. The Dixie Trio, an ensemble featuring popular and old time melodies in song and dance, have been secured by Manager Zimmer for the entertainment of Graylyn Blue Room patrons. Owen Granger, the headliner of the trio, is to be seen and heard in various forms of comedy dancing and singing. He also leads the others in the triplet harmony. The boys play the guitar, mandolin, and banjo along with the vocal offerings, and may be heard each night at the Blue Room except Monday.
Dancers Head The Cars Bill Floor Show for Week Given in Four Acts. Pour acts of entertainment make up the floor show bill at The Cars this week. Frances and Williams, styled as “The Rhythm Steppers,” present the headline bit with several special dance numbers. The boys are known well for their duo work in both tap and soft shoe routines. Kitty LaMarr is the blues singer at the South Side Club for the week and has a host of new songs to offer patrons. Lillian White is cast as a specialty dancer and Mabel Cress will be seen and heard in both song and dance presentations. Whispering Jack Wright and orchestra are doing the music for dancers and floor show Historic See no Reconstructed An authentic reconstructi<n of the changing of the guard at St. James' palace in 1792 was staged during the filming of "The Scarlet Pimpernel,” London Films’ production of the famous Baroness Orczy novel, starring Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon and scheduled for release through tJnited Artists. Chevalier to Play Lead Maurice Chevalier, recently returned from a continental jaunt, has arrived in Hollywood, where he will immediately start activities in the starring role of “Folies Bergere de Paris.” Twentieth Century’s new and gigantic musical which will be released through United Artists Dave Gould has been assigned to direct the ensembles.

Garber Will Play at Roof Indiana Ballroom Books Famed Orchestra. Jan Garber and his orchestra, starting on a holiday tour, have chosen the Indiana Roof as one of the spots to be favored with a one-night engagement, Friday evening, Dec. 28. The forthcoming tour will be the first Garber has made since last spring when he broke box office records in all of the Mid-West’s leading cities. After that sensational tour, the idol of the airwaves and his orchestra took a location engagement on Wrigley’s Catalina Island, where they were featured throughout the summer months. Since September, Garber and his orchestra have been featured in the Trianon ballroom. Chicago, where they broadcast over- radio station

Radio station WFBM has extended an invitation to all of its listeners to attend a Christmas dance party on the Indiana Roof next Friday, Dec. 21. Bob Nolan and his music, currently featured at the roof, will provide the dance music. Reunion Is Temporary Jeanette MacDonald and Robert Ritchie, her fiance, are to be reunited only for about two weeks. Ritchie will return to New York, thence to Europe on a business trip. Claire Trevor to Play Lead Sol M. Wurtzel has been assigned to the production of "Beauty’s Daughter,” which Sonya Levien is adapting for Fox Film. Claire Trevor will be featured in the picture.

Variety Act by Tierny Troupe Starts Program Lynda Forest and Bobby Grice Also Contributors to Entertainment. The Showboat is presenting a “big gun” show this week, with Ricardeau and Enid, adagio dancers, who have been held over by request, headlining the new bill. Morrey Brennen "the giant of jazz,” and his musicians are the music makers at the Showboat and play both for the show program and for dancers. The two dancers, who also do ballroom and tango work, claim Detroit as their home town, and came here directly from the Arabian Grille in Columbus. The Tierny Troupe, consisting of four persons and featuring a little bit of everything, including some smart dogs, open the floor bill with a variety act of juggling and hoop throwing. Lynda Forest from Nashville, Tenn., is the featured blues singer this week, and Bobbie Grice, formerly leader of the famous BrickTop girls’ band, is handling the ceremonial job. Anew chorus is gracing the bill starting tonight, and the six girls are known as the "Sweethearts,” coming to Indianapolis direct from road show work. Gordon Bennett, Irish tenor, will stop off at the Showboat tonight and possibly stay over for tomorrow night’s show. He is cm his way west to appear in a musical show. Wife Steals Act George Burns, screen comedian, fell in love with Gracie Allen, his radio, stage and screen partner, and his wife because she stole his act.
