CHANGES URGED IN MOTOR LAWS Indiana Truck Association to Study Proposals at Convention. Changes in Indiana motor laws mill be asked at. the 17th annual convention of the Indiana Motor Truck Association to be held in the Lincoln Thursday, .C. W. Abraham, secretary-trea ,urer, announced today. The procram for the convention, j delegates to which will represent every section of the state, will include addresses by Chester G.! Moore. Chicago. American Trucking Association firt vice-president; A1 G. Feeney, state safety director; Russell P. Kchoe, motor vehicle department director of state Public Service Commission; Claude II Anderson. Indianapolis attorney, j and James D. Adams, Indiana State Highway Commission chairman. Six directors, to serve two-year j terms, will be elected at the con- j vention. TWO POLICE OFFICERS ARE GAS VICTIMS Overcome While Riding in Radio Car; Carhon Monoxide Blamed. Patrolman Frank Owen, 2651 Manker-at. was in City Hospital today and his companion. Patrolman Chc.les Rardon, 3938 Graceland-av. was recuperating at home from carbon monoxide poisoning received last night while they were on duty ir their radio car. The officers pulled into a gasoline filling station at Southeastern and State-avs and Patrolman Rardon entered the station where he tumbled into the arms of Patrolman J. D. Owens, 214 Hiawatha-st, who was also at the filling station. He complained of the gas in his car, escaping from an exhaust heater. Patrolman Owens went outside to tell Patrolman Rnrdon's companion of his plight and found Patrolman Owen ill in the car. Both the suffering officers were sent to the hos- ! pita! for treatment. The company will manage all property except household furnishing which were given to the widow. Mrs. Ella Acker Mendenhall, directly. Dr. Mendenhall, his daughter. Miss Evelyn Mendenhall, Richmond i Ind.) newspaper woman, and Dr. John W. Carmack, 5145 N. Meri-dian-st. were killed when the plane in which they were being piloted by Lieut. Howard Maxwell, 6800 Wpstfleld-rd, crashed against a tree
at the edge of the Richmond airport. Under terms of the will dated April 4, 1930. the trust company is to pay Mrs. Mendenhall the net income monthly from the estate and such of the principal as may be necessary to educate the 'children, of whom Albert Storer Mendenhall and Elwood Hirst Mendenhall survive. Upon the death of the widow, the net income is to be divided monthly between the children until they are 25, at which time they will receive half the principal.
