Tech Girl, 17. Watches Staging of Own Play Proud High School Pupil Praised for Adaptation of Virgil’s •Aeneid’ Into Blank Verse. Miss Mary Mae Endsley, who is 17 and who lives at 441 N. Grant-av, today watched a presentation of a play she had written and was pretty proud about it all.
j The play, “As the Gods Will,” was Muss Endsley’s adaptation into English blank verse of Virgil's ycneid.” Written in one act of .two scenes, it was presented by the Latin Club of Technical High School, where Miss Endsley is a senior. So far as any one concerned with the production knows. Miss Er.dsley is the first high school pupil ever to complete an adaptation such as “As the Gods Will"—either from the Latin or ;ny other foreign language She did it in her own SHOT DEFLECTED FROM GROUND HURTS HUNTER Dr. Charles W. Some of the shot ricocheted off the frozen ground and, glancing upward, hit the physician’s face. He was not injured seriously. * ! time, too, spending a month of afternoons and nights on it. Miss Endsley, who does not consider Latin a dead language, or a language anywhere near dead, was pretty pleased aboc* the whole business, not only the presentation of the play in the school auditorium. but also the fact that the production was managed entirely by her fellow-Latin enthusiasts with no facult supervision. “As the Gods Will” had four major characters; a host of minor characters.
