GIRLS' CLUB TO FETE ATHLETES AT SHORTRIDGE Football, Track Performers to Be Dinner Guests Friday. The Shortridgp High School True Blue Club, girls’ athletic booster organization, will give its annual foot-ball-track banquet Friday night in the school cafeteria, it was announced today. INDIANA LEADS UNION IN HOUSING PBOGRAM State Stands First in Repair and Modernization Work. R. Earl Peters, Indiana director of the Federal Housing Administration, was informed from Washington today that Indiana stands first of all the states of the Union in its repair and moderni2tion program under the National Housing Act. Indiana is followed by Louisiana, Minnesota, * California, Maryland, Connecticut, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Arizona in the order named. The rating is based on the amount of loans as compared with the quota of each state, the estimated amount of work as compared with the quota, and the number of active campaigns in communities of more than 1000, and the measure of bank support. Mr. Peters announced the appointment of Oak Polk, Newcastle, as a field representative of the state office.
