DETOURS LIFTED ON ALL DDT H STATE ROADS Weather Facilitates Completion of Several Projects on Highways. Clement weather facilitated completion of several highway projects to the end that only fourteen detours will be in effect in the state over the week-end. Two of these, on Roads 12 and 24 at the west edge of Ft. Wayne, wifl be lifted next week and stabilization of Road 121 also will be accomplished during the week. Detours due to construction are: Road 13—Detour over city streets in Wabash. Road 14—Detour from South Whitley east, is five miles over Road 5 and county gravel road. Detour at west edge of Ft. Wayne is one mile. Open about Dec. 5. Road 18—Detour six miles east of Fowler is seven miles over gravel.

C. railroad crossing is 1.4 miles for westbound traffic; 2.2 miles for eastbound traffic. U. S. 24—Detour at west edge of Ft. Wayne is one and one-half miles. Open about Dec. 5. U. S. 27—Detour from one-half m;le north of Winchester is four miles. U. S. 41—Detour in Hammond over city streets. Road 44 —Bridge construction in Connersville, detour one-quarter mile. Road 45—Three-ton load limit on bridge one-half mile east of Helmsburg. Road 56—Drive slow fr6m Paoli to eight miles east, unfinished shoulders. Road 58—Four-ton load limit on bridge two and one-half miles west of Heltonviile. Road 62—Short detour in Jeffersonville over city streets. Road 67—Detour between Worthington and Spencer, account grading. Road 121—Stabilization from Road 52 to Laurel. Traffic drive through slowly. Completed about Dec. 4.

PUPIL GOST IN CITY SETS PACE FOR ECONOMY Indianapolis Is Lowest of Systems of Its Size • in Nation.. The cost for each pupil in the Indianapolis public school system for the years 1930, 1932 and 1933 was cheaper than any other school city of similar enrollment and conditions, it was revealed today In the current j issue of American School Board Journal. A chart shows Indianapolis with enrollment for the three years of 53,022, 53,131 and 51,439 with a pupil cost of $lO.lO, $10.17 and $8.99. The average cost a pupil for three years was $9.76. Cincinnati, with an enrollment of 52,022, 53,390 and 54,360 for the three years, had a cost each year of $13.04, $12.31 and $11.65 with a three-year average cost of $12.32.
