3 STATES TO TAKE PART IN SHRINE EVENT Ohio. Kentucky Will Send Delegations to Golden Jubilee Here. Delegations from temples in Indiana Ohio and Kentucky will take part in the Murat Temple fiftieth j anniversary celebration to be held Dec li. Carson B. Harris, anniversary celebration general chairman announced today that promises to participate had been received from Shrine temples at Evansville, Terre Haute and Hammond. The Evansville temple has promised to send 500 uniformed nobles of the order to take part in the Murat celebration, and uniformed organizations. including bands and patrols, are expected from the Terre Haute and Hammond temples. A large delegation is anticipated from Syrian temple. Cincinnati, which instituted Murat temple in 1804. and it Is believed that bands and patrols from Dayton and Columbus also will attend. Since the beginning of the anniversary program nearly three hundred former temple members have been restored to good standing, and IWcar Hart, restoration committee chairman, expects no less than one thousand restorations before the anniversary celebration. Membership committees also hope to gam about fifty new members before the ceremonial. One of the most important features of the anniversary will be the visitation of Dana S. Williams, imperial potentate, and James H. Price, imperial recorder, who is Lieuten-ant-Governor of Virginia. A gala parade, in which the uniformed delegations will march through downtown streets, is being arranged. Junior Mechanics to Hold Dance Capitol City Council No. 68, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, will hold a free Thanksgiving dance and card party for members and friends at 8 30 tomorrow in Busehmann's hall. Eleventh street and College avenue, it was announced.

Alf O. Meloy, United States marshal, plans to retire as a ' gentleman farmer - in Morgan county when his commission expires Feb. 15. 1935 One of former Senator Arthur R, Robinson's appointees in 1927, Mr. Meloy will have completed two terms of office. Last spring, it was reported, that Mr. Meloy was asked by the Democrats to resign in order that Omer F. Jackson, present Democratic state chairman, might receive the position. Mr. Meloy refused, stating that he would complete fils term. Several Republican deputy marshals in the marshal's office are expected to go out of office with Mr. Meloy. It is understood that Mr. Jackson will assume the position. POSTOFFICE TO CLOSE ON THANKSGIVING DAY Regular Sunday Schedule Will Be Observed. All departments of the postoffice will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving day, Postmaster Adolph Seidensticker announced tonay. There will be no delivery of gaml by city or rural carriers. The Sunday schedule of collections and evening delivery to hotels will be observed. Outgoing mails will be dispatched as usual to all trains and all special delivery mail and perishable parcels received will be delivered.
