LIQUOR-CRAZED WOMAN KILLER IS NEARJEATH Slayer of Sister-in-Law Is Reported in Critical Condition. Coroner William E. Arbuckle today was to continue receiving statements of witnesses to the slaying Tuesday afternoon of Mrs. Pauline Dowden Williams. 47. by her liquorcrazed brother-in-law, Harvey Talbott. 47, impoverished socialite. Meanwhile, in city hospital. Talbott was reported in critical condition. Detective Lieutenant Michael Hynes of the homicide squad has obtained a preliminary statement from him, but he has been in no condition to question at length and merely has repeated that he could not explain his action. Funeral sendees for Mrs. Williams, housekeeper for the Glenn Martin and Livingston apartments. on the southwest comer of Meridian and St. Joseph streets, were held yesterday afternoon in the Thirty-First Street Baptist church, which was jammed to the doors with a crowd of her friends and of morbidly curious persons. Pallbearers were six of the many young business men who live at the Glenn Martin and Livingstone. The six were Roy A. Rainey Jr., who was threatened by Talbott when the latter was seeking refuge from police; Everett A. Westcott, who was with Mr. Rainey at the time; Earl R. Stevens, L. McGehee Porter, John Hazelwood and Laurence Wingerter. The church services, which followed brief services at the Williams home. 1039 Congress avenue, also attended by a large crowd, were conducted by the Rev. Morris H. Coers, Thirty-Eighth Street Baptist church pastor, and the Rev. Aubrey H. Moore, Seventh Christian church pastor. Mrs. Williams was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in an apartment at 37 V 2 West St. Joseph street, opposite the Livingstone, which she maintained to enable her to stay near her work. Talbott shot himself on the third floor of the Glenn Martin after fleeing there from Mrs. Williams’ apartment.

SAINT AGNES ACADEMY MUSICIANS ENTERTAIN Program Staged in Commemoration of Feast of St. Cecilia. In commemoration of the feast of St. Cecilia, music students of Saint Agnes academy yesterday entertained the student body with a program. Numbers ranged from drama to choral work and the program was closed with a carol to the saint honored. Monday the juniors of the social will entertain the seniors at , a luncheon in the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Miss Peggy Sweeney will preside.

All you need in materials in The Indianapolis Times drawing lessons is a soft pencil and some paper like typewriter paper, and then a big smooth board like a drawing board or your mother’s bread board, or a large, smooth book. You will need an eraser. The best kind is a kneaded eraser. With it you will not make such a.mess on the floor. Cut out these lessons each day, paste them in a book, and you will have a drawing book to keep and show' your friends. Do you have some friends who are interested in drawing? Election of new officers and a banquet were the outstanding features on today's program of he annual convention of Indiana County Commissioners' Association at the Severin. The convention, attended by 300 county commissioners, highway executives and engineers, will close tonight. Governor Paul V. McNutt yesterday told the convention the 1935 general assembly might consider legislatln providing for the simplification of county governmental structures. The Governor did not directly comment upon abolition of county offices, but his statements were interpreted to mean the legislature would consider such a step. At the conversion dinner last night. Harry E. McClain, state insurance commissioner, was the principal speaker. William H. Cosgrove, chief examiner of the state board of accounts. yesterday explained th e operation of the old age pension law. An open forum followed.
