Ethelmae Miller Becomes Bride in Church Rite The marriage of Miss Ethelmae Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar D. Miller, to Clarence William Russell took place yesterday in St. Paul M. E. church. After the ceremony the couple left for a trip to Chicago and will return here to live at 1335 West Thirty-third street. Wearing a white crepe dress and tulle veil, held in place by bands of silver, the bride carried a bouquet of white roses, tied with silver ribbons. Her attendants were Miss Elinor Howe, maid of honor, who wore a blue ensemble and carried pink roses; Miss Isabelle Eves, senior bridesmaid, who was dressed in peach and carried yellow roses, and Henrietta Bakemeier. Pittsburgh, junior bridesmaid, whose dress was yellow and her flowers apricot. Madalyn Dawn Garrison, Blanchester, 0., was flower girl. Renzie Jeffries, the bridegroom's uncle, was best man. George Russell, the bridegroom's brother, and Paul Freund were ushers. Mrs. Miller wore a green crepe dress, black accessories and a shoulder corsage of gardenias. George A. Smith and Harry E. Calland sang bridal songs and Miss Louise Swan was organist.

DINNERS GIVEN FOR VISITORS IN CITY

Mr. and Mrs. William Hay Adams invited a few friends to an informal supper at the Woodstock Club last night. Honor guests wore Mr. and Mrs. Edward Elliott Jones. Los Angeles. who formerly lived here. Mrs. Jesse Fletcher invited guests to dinner Saturday night. Among them were Mr. ands Sirs. Harold Purdy. Kansas City. Mo., guests of Mr. an.l Mrs. W. I. Longsworth.

Furscoit, Mr. Furscott, Annis THE Civic theater’s opening performance, “The Church Mouse,” afforded a starting point for Saturday night's gala social activities, and many of the theater patrons were present at the Columbia Club later in the evening for the entertainment and dance of the Little Lambs. Frederick Burleigh, the theater's director, mingled with the crowd during the intermissions, receiving the congratulations of friends. Harold Tharp, president of the theater’s board of directors, and Mrs. Tharp were among the "first nighters,” as were Mr. and Mrs. Mortimer C. Furscott, Mrs. Theodore B Griffith. Miss I. Hilda Stewart and Annis Spring. Mrs. Thomas Harvey Cox chatted with friends, and Mrs. Wendell Sherk and Mrs. Harry Espenscheid, Danville, 111., who was the week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barnes, hurried up the theater's steps for the show 7 .

EDNA WRIGHT WEDS IN CHURCH SERVICE Miss Edna Louise Wright, daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Wright, became the bride of Weldon Payne, Columbus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Payne. Columbus, in a ceremony Saturday at the parsonage of the West Washington Street Presbyterian church. The Rev. T. J. Simpson officiated at the service, which was attended by immediate families. The bride wore dahlia velvet with Johanna Hill roses arranged in a bouquet and her attendant, Miss Ruth Hall, wore royal blue velvet with Talisman roses. Robert Hamilton. Columbus, was best man. A reception at the Wright home followed.

Miss Elsie Lipp is rush captain for Alpha chapter. Sigma Delta Zeta sorority, and will be assisted by Miss Lucille Hayes at a series of rush parties. Beta chapter. lota Ps. Omega sorority, will meet at 8 tonight at the Y. W. C. A. Mrs. Earl Shockley will be hostess at her summer home in Ravenswood for the Halloween party of the Alpha Zeta Beta sorority tomorrownight. Assistants will be Miss Nellie Reilly and Miss Hazel Feuchter Beta chapter, Omega Phi Tau sorority, will meet tonight with Mrs. Janice Miller, 1135 North Tuxedo street.

Mrs. John Ruckelshaus accompanied Mrs. Conrad Ruckelshaus in a musical number, and Austin Brown, the Dramatic Club president, presented vocal numbers, ‘‘The Yankee Doodle Boy,” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” Kurt Pantzer repeated his popular version of the “Flying Trapeze” number; Percy Weer portrayed “Casey at the aßt” and Herman W. Kothe sang “School Days” and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” In one party enjoying the frolic were Miss Abby Beveridge, William H. Stafford Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Laurens Henderson. Mrs. Pantzer, the Civic theater’s membership chairman for the year, and Mr. Pantzer, gave a dinner party, at which William B. Stokely Jr. was one of the guests.

EDWARD VANRIPER WILL TAKE BRIDE By Times Special FT. WAYNE, Oct. 9.—The engagement of Miss Anne Hayden, to Edward Longley Vanßiper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guernesy Van Riper, Indianapolis, is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Hayden. The marriage will take place Dec. 1. The bride-to-be was graduated from De Pauw university where she i was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and Mr. Van Riper, also a De pauw graduate, was graduated from Harvard University School of Business Administration and is a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.
