JEWISH FUND GROUP MEETS HERE MONDAY Cleveland Federation Head to Address Annual Gathering. The Indianapolis Jewish Welfare Fund will hold its annual mooting •t 8:15 Monday in the Kir hbaum Community Center. H Hyman executive director, announced today. I As insulin subdued the toll of diabetes, so liver is a specific for pernicious anemia. Like many great discoveries in science, the conquest of this disease of the bone marrow, a disease that prevents the formation of enough vigorous red blood cells, came slowly. The first act occurred in the animal experiment laboratories of Dr. Creorge H. Whipple of the University of Rochester. The second act of the drama came when Dr. , George R. Minot of Harvard medii cal school seiltd upon Dr. Whipple's result and reprieved pernicious ane- ' mia patients.

MEXICO MAY SEIZE X, OF C. PROPERTY Chamber Studies Bill Aimed at Church Groups. r.’i T'nitf and Prt ** MEXICO CITY, Oct. 26.—A bill providing for expropriation of 50 per cent of all money and property of the Knights of Columbus, Jewish and other prominent religious groups was before a chamber of deputies committee today. The bill provided further that 50 per cent of all money and property of persons who engage in religious agitation against the government should be seized. Proceeds from the seizures would be used to finance small farms allot-

ed to peasants by the agrarian department. The bill was the latest manifestaI tion of the dispute regarding the | government's educational program— Ia part of its six-year plan of ecoI nomic reconstruction. Other bills introduced in the chamber and senate would exclude from the civil service members of religious orders; give the president the right to close any newspaper which supported a religious creed; close all Roman Catholic churches, ! expel all priests and melt all church 1 bells for industrial use. SPANISH JCLUB ELECTS Edward Coller Named President of Tech Group. Edward Coller is the new president of the Technical high school Spanish Club, it was announced today by Miss Esther Aldridge, sponsor. Other officers elected were Elizabeth Pugh. vice-president; Vera Relford. secretary, and Wilbur sergeant-at-arms.
