CITY THEATERS OFFER SHOWS FORMERS John Charles Thomas and Walter Hampden , Will Appear. Theaters of Indianapolis for months have been arranging events of importance for the many teachers and their guests during the sessions today and tomorrow of the Indiana State Teachers' Association convention. Two major events lead the programs at English's tonight. Mrs. Nancy Martens will present John Charles Thomas, famed American baritone, and a member of the Metropolitan Opera, in recital. Saturday afternoon, Waiter Hampden, the leading living exponent of the classics on the American stage, will be seen in “Richelieu” at English's. That night, the great star will give his first Indianapolis performance in Shakespeare's “King Richard III.” Another event of great interest Saturday will be the lecture of Raymond D. Moley, editor of Today and former assistant secretary of state in the present administration, as a Town Hall offering in the ballroom of the Columbia Club at 11 a. m. The movie theaters are offering major productions of the season. The Indiana today is offering Pauline Lord in “Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch.” “Gay Divorcee,”

Ten fraternal groups will give luncheons ancf dinner parties during sessions of the Indiana State Teachers’ Association today and tomorrow. Alpha sorority will give a dinner at the Bamboo inn, 39 Monument Circle, at 5:30 this afternoon. A luncheon of the Chi Omega sorority will be held at 1:30 Saturday in L. S. Ayres & Cos. tearoom. Phi Omega Pi sorority gave.a luncheon today in Parlor S. Claypool. Pi Gamma Sigma sorority will hold a breakfast at 7:45 tomorrow at Tice's tavern. A breakfast will be given by Pi Lambda Theta at 7:30 tomorrow in the Washington hotel. Pi Omega Pi held a luncheon at 12:30 today at the Spink-Arms. Psi Chi Omega sorority will fete members with a luncheon at 12:30 tomorrow in the Lincoln room of the Lincoln.
