LAST RITES ARE HELD HERE FOR CHARLES COFFIN Prominent Leader in Civic Affairs Laid to Rest in Crown Hill. Funeral services for Charles E Coffin, civic and business leader of Indianapolis, who died Monday at his home, 1213 North Meridian erect, were held yesterday in Flanr.er and Buchanan funeral home. Burial was in Crown Hill. Services were conducted by Dr. Jean S. Miltier, in the absence from the city of ’he Rev. Abram S. Woodard, pastor of the Meridian Street M. E church, of which Mr. Coffin was a member. Pallbearers were B F Lawrence, • T ames A. Stuart, James W. Noel, William H Coleman, James M. Ogden and J. S. Holliday. Jack Ross Dies Last rites for Jack Ross. 51, of East Thirty-fourth street, advertising manager of the Union Labor News, who died yesterday in St. Vincent’s hospital, will be held at the j. c. Wilson funeral home at 2 tomorrow. Burial will be in Franklin, where Mr. Ross was born. The widow. Mrs. Marie Ross, Indianapolis public ischool teacher, is the only survivor. Bertha Arndt Dead Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha R. Arndt, 81. of 2325 East Garfield firive, who died at her home yesterday, will be held at 2 tomorrow in the residence. Burial will be in Crown Hill. Mrs. Aindt was born In Germany. She w'as a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving her are the widower, August F. Arndt; three sons, Frank C. Arndt, Cleveland, and Otto and George Arndt, both of Indianapolis. and two daughters, Mrs. Mathias J. Arndt and Mrs. Paul T. Hurt, both of Indianapolis. Rector’s Wife Dies Word of the death of Mrs. Margaret Graham, wife of the Rev. Andrew J. Graham, former rector of Christ Episcopal church, Thursday at her home in Charles River Village, Mass., has been received by Reber L. Taylor, Livingston apartments, a relative. Survivors are the widower, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Francis Lippett, Meriden. Conn.; a brother and two sisters. Stella Ball Rites Set Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Mae Ball, 66, of 532 North Keystone avenue, who died yesterday at her home, will be held at 10:30 tomorrow in the Harry W. Moore funeral home. The body will be taken to Bedford, her former home, for burial. Mrs. Ball had lived in Indianapolis twenty years. Surviving her are the widowpr, I. J. Ball; a son, James W. Ball. At the conclusion of his testimony, Mr. McCormack announced; “I want it known that the actions here today are not to be construed as representative of the Americans of German blood in this country.” There was an outburst of mocking laughter. Mr. McCormack ordered the session adjourned.
