LEGION AUXILIARY TO INSTALL SLATE Ceremony to Be Held at D. A. R. House. Incoming officers will be installed at the Hilton U. Brown Jr. Post 85, American Legion auxiliary, meeting today at the D. A. R. chapter house. Mrs. Ruth Innis will have charge of the installation services. Following the services a dinner will be served by auxiliary members, w’ith Mr. and Mrs. Hilton U. Brown and Mr. and Mrs William Herschell as guests of honor. The annual fall picnic will be held at Morgan-Monroe state forest Sunday. Arrangements are being made by a committee headed by Oscar Stumps.

Twenty-three Technical high school girls in office practice 11. under the supervision of Mrs. Clara Louise Gorsline, are acting as stenographers to various members of the faculty this semester, as part of their class work. The girls are La Verne Anderson, Dorothy Baker. Louise Baker, Wanda Blumenauer, Cora Docktor, Alicebray Fitz. Maxine Floyd, Mary Jane Hall, Eileen Harris, Nellie Keeling. Colleen McGinnis, Elmira Mills. Martha Mosier. Lenore Myers. Alberta Norman, Anna Olson. Lois Richardson, Dorothy Riebe, Ruth Schneider. Edna Simmons, Mildred Surenkamp Mary Jane Wade and Helen Woemer. Duties of these student stenographers include general dictation, typing. telephoning, filing, making reports, keeping records, library reference work, indexing, cataloguj ing, cutting stencils, mimeograph- ! ing addressing envelopes, stapling, and taking down verbatim the speeches of the various guest speakers at the high school.
